Wait for your turn with the book “Now You're Talking!: All You Need to Get Your First Ham
Radio License (Now Youre Talking, 5th Ed)” or buy it from Amazon.com for ~$11.95 if you get a used one (make
sure you get the 5th edition).
This will get you ready for the test. Now take a bunch of Sample Tests

move down the page) Practice Tests.
Take the Technician test over and over, till you pass it every time.
Now time for the real test. It costs $12 to take the test and you need to know your social
security number, and have two Identification items (they like a photo ID, but I
doubt you have one, so take a school ID, library card, Scout ID etc.).
The tests are available at many locations.

you. Or talk with the Scoutmaster and
see if a group is going to one!
